General FAQs

We offer acrylic, metal, canvas, and photo paper (both Hahnemühle and Canon paper).
Please see our FAQ section describing all the different formats.

At this time we do not offer custom framing, but is something we plan to offer in the future.
Acrylic, metal, and canvas prints are shipped with the ability to mount directly on the wall without a frame, but if you desire to frame it yourself and would like to forgo the backings offered please let us know.
If you would like to have us deliver our print to a custom framing company, please email us at bill@lensobjectivesphotography.com, and if we can accommodate it, we will.
-
We have selected the photos on our site based on the quality and integrity of the photograph.
Some images on Instagram may not hold up when printed large, but if there is a photo you would like, please email us at bill@lensobjectivesphotography.com, and we will see what we can do.
This is not guaranteed as we would need to check the resolution and whether or not we believe it would make a quality print.
There would be an additional up charge to source a specific photo, and would only come in an open edition version unless we decide to add it to our site.

We make every effort to ensure what you receive closely matches what you see on screen but in most cases screens can represent images with a much higher color and brightness range than physical media. That said, metal and acrylic prints get very close, with canvas and photo paper offering a more traditional look. There are also other factors such as screen calibration and accuracy discussed below.
Color Accuracy and Screen Calibration
Most consumer screens are not color-calibrated and can display images with varying brightness, contrast, and color saturation depending on the display type, lighting conditions, and settings.
Our editing and proofing process is done on professionally calibrated monitors using industry-standard color calibration tools to ensure color accuracy during post-production.
Printing and ICC Profiles
To bridge the gap between screen and print, we use customized ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles. These profiles allow us to soft-proof images providing a preview showing exactly how colors will render on a given medium before printing. This process ensures optimal fidelity in tonal range, color balance, and contrast.
We also have a great working relationship with one of the top printers in the nation helping make our prints look their best, and will often listen to their professional advice regarding the adjustments needed for a specific image and format.
Media and White Point Considerations
Different printing materials have unique characteristics that can affect the appearance of the final print, especially in terms of the white point (the brightness and hue of the material’s "white" base) :
Canvas and some fine art photo papers tend to have a warmer and less bright white point. This means highlights and whites may appear slightly muted or creamier compared to a backlit screen. These materials also absorb more ink, which can slightly reduce vibrancy but this is also what gives a canvas print its artistic flair.
Acrylic and metal prints offer a much higher fidelity to the original image. This is largely due to their brighter white point and reflective or glossy finish, which enhance contrast, detail, and color saturation. In particular, dye-sublimation metal prints yield highly accurate, vibrant results due to the way ink infuses directly into the coated surface.
Our Commitment to Consistency
Each print is reviewed for quality and accuracy. Our goal is to honor the integrity of the original image and ensure that your fine art print reflects the artistic vision as closely as possible—both in tone and detail.
If you are especially concerned about color accuracy for your space or project, we are happy to provide guidance or even test prints in certain cases.
